This was a quote from the funeral program:

People are like tea bags, you do not know how strong they are until you put them into hot water.  Karie swam in boiling water for 19 years.  Her strength was based upon a verse from the Bible that she often quoted, "If God is with me, who can be against me?"  She fought a good fight.  She went to sleep and awoke a champion on the other side.
