A gentle giant is a great description of Jim. We played football together at both Lake Air Jr.and Richfield and became good friends. Don't know if many knew that Jim player keyboard in a band our junior and senior years. So, I wasn't surprised to read on his profile recently that he had worked as a road crew manager for one of Texas' great song writers, B.W. Stevenson.

Not aware of Jim having passed. He was on FaceBook recently.

Truly saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Jim seemed to know everyone and always treated them as
a friend. I will always remember his laugh and thought of him as a "Gentle Giant".
Harry Harelik
I agree with Larry.....an extremely nice guy. So sorry to hear of his passing.

The first time I remember seeing Jim Devaney was at 7th grade football
practice. For a blocking drill Coach Morrow lined us up into 2 lines. I counted down
the line and realized I was paired with Jim. I really didn't know Jim. He was taller and
bigger than me and I remember thinking why couldn't it be somebody else. Jim and I
became great friends and he did play the keyboards in our band. Jim was a wonderful
man. A great friend. Jim will be missed. May his memory be eternal.
