Nevelyn Kay Gatlin, 57, of Waco, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2006, at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, at Waco Memorial Park with Joe Gatlin officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Kay was born in Groesbeck, Texas. In 1967, Kay graduated from Richfield High School in Waco and then from the McLennan Community College Nursing Program. She worked as a surgical nurse at Providence Hospital in Waco and Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Vondane Hunt; son, Bryan Gatlin; and father-in-law, Weldon Gatlin.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Bob Gatlin; sons, Chris and Kyle Gatlin; and daughter, Stacy Gatlin, all of Waco; sister, Jill Davis and husband, Greg and their three sons, of Justin; brother, Bruce Ford, of Dallas; mother-in-law, Allene Gatlin, of Waco; brother-in-law, Joe Gatlin and wife, Nancy, and their two daughters.
