Barbara, my heart is broken. I remember as clearly as if it were yesterday how much fun we had senior year. We were roommates on choir tour (at that questionable house in Pasadena), we climbed out your bedroom window on a school night, we tortured Dr. Hawthorne by going out to lunch at Pepe's and smoking, not to mention being brats on the piano. I will miss your always happy smile and true friendship. I admired your outstanding talent and aspired to be just like you. I failed miserably. You will be missed always. Love, Marti Kay
In high school, Barbara and I were as "thick as thieves" as my grandfather used to say. We spent countless hours together each week at each other's house and talked on the phone most every night. My almost 96 year old mom recently remembered Barbara as "almost always upbeat and easy to be around". She was like a fifth daughter in our busy household during the Richfield years. Barbara was the more adventurous of the two of us, always seeking some (mostly) good, clean teenage fun. With all of the angst that comes with being a teenager, it was very special to have a best friend that you could depend on to be there with you during the ups and downs. Barbara was that best friend for me. Rest In Peace, Barbara.
