  Irene T. Moon,  62, passed away Sept. 13, 2003.
        
She was born Oct. 26, 1941 in Massillon. A graduate of Ohio State University with bachelors and masters degrees from Ashland University. She was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance of Wadsworth and the Auxiliary Gideons International. She retired from the Wadsworth school system with 37 years of service, where she taught Spanish at the high school, was a member of O.E.A., N.E.A., past president and negotiator of the W.E.A., member of the Retired Medina County Teachers Association, charter member of Kappa Conclave Kappa Kappa Ioita, and recipient of the Ashland Teachers Award. Irene arranged and chaperoned several trips for students overseas and hosted several foreign exchange students. Even in retirement, she continued service by being a PRAXIS evaluator. She enjoyed scrap-booking and volunteering for the Schnauzer Rescue Group.
        
Preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lucille Sonnanstine. Survived by her husband of 26 years, Raleigh E. Moon; brother, Don (Joyce) Sonnanstine; mother-in-law, Virginia Moon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
        
      Calling hours will be Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home, 7984 Ridge Rd. (one mile north of I-76), Wadsworth. Memorials may be made to Gideons International. (Cox, Wadsworth, 330-335-3311.)
