WADSWORTH -- Alberta C. Messam, 85, died Nov. 16, 1994 at Meadowview Care  Center in Seville after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Messam was born in Tallmadge and resided in Wadsworth 35 years. She  was an English teacher at Wadsworth High School, retiring in 1971 with 15  years service. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Alpha Gamma  Delta Sorority, and Wadsworth Women's Club, and enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Messam is survived by husband, Ernest W.; daughter, Linda (Mrs.  Charles) Peterson of Princeton, N.J.; son, Laurence of Wadsworth Township; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Jackie of Woodstock, Ill.; six grandchildren, one great-grandson.

The family will receive friends Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the  Hilliard Cox Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where a  prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Funeral services Saturday, 9:30 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at  10 a.m. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
