Phyllis M. Hawk was a second-grade teacher at the Isham Elementary School, Wadsworth, for 24 years.

Mrs. Hawk, who retired in 1991, was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, VFW Post 1089 Auxiliary, the Wadsworth Women's Club, Midwey Estates and the National Education Association.

Mrs. Hawk, 56, died Sunday at her home. She had cancer.

She was born in Wadsworth and lived there all her life. She graduated in 1958 from Kent State University with a degree in education.

She is survived by her husband, Donald K.; sons, Timothy C. of Imlay City, Mich., and Steven A. of Wadsworth; six grandchildren; and her father, Morris Pease of Wadsworth.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Hilliard Cox Mullaney funeral home
