Wadsworth - Gregory J. Hereda, 52, of Wadsworth passed away due to complications of multiple myeloma on  Thursday October 22, 2009.

Born July 25, 1957, in Akron, OH to the late John and Jacqueline Hereda. Greg was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a graduate of Wadsworth High School class of 1975.  He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Akron was employed by Univar USA for 23 years.  He served as a Auxiliary Police officer in Wadsworth for 25 years and was a member of the Cleveland Chemical Association, Cleveland Paints and Coatings, FOP and the FOPA.

Greg enjoyed his work, golfing with his friends, vacationing with his family, visiting his children and was a devout Buckeye Fan.

He is survived by his wife Debbie (nee; Carretta), daughters Marie (Matt) Couling of New York, Teresa Hereda of Indiana, and Anne Hereda of Columbus, OH, one brother and sister-in-law Michael and Elaine Hereda and several nieces, nephews aunts and uncles, locally and in PA, along with his dog and companion Muchacho.

The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth.Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 272 Broad St. Wadsworth.  Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family.

Greg was a big OSU fan and his daughter Marie performed with the band. So for Greg we honor him with the OSU song.

Hereda Family,

I was greatly saddened to hear of the loss of Greg. We were good friends at Wadsworth H.S. We lost contact afterwords but my mother and sister would always let me know when they ran into him...I thought of our friendship often. Please know that my prayers are with you.

Hi Debbie,

I am sorry to hear of Greg's passing. Vic and my prayer is that God will give you comfort and peace through this very difficult time in your life. I have very fond memories of Greg in high school and he always had a great laugh. I know he'll be missed.
