The Lord welcomed Shirley Ann Price in His Celestial Home on Aug. 7, 2002, after a long and courageous battle with chronic lung disease.

 

Her determination and perseverance has served as an inspiration to her entire family. Shirley was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and spent most of her life in Akron.

 

She was the loving wife and faithful companion of Dennis for 35 years. She was the loving and caring mother of Kathy (Fred) Beers, Patricia (Mark) Thompson, David (Tammy), Jeffrey, and Eric Price. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Gaertner of Pittsburgh, and her mother, Ruth Oser and stepfather, Bill Oser of Akron. She is survived by her stepmother, Betty Gaertner of Pittsburgh; sisters, Karen (Bob) Wyatt and Barbara Null; and brothers, Bill (Nancy) Oser and John Oser. She dearly loved her grandchildren, Ashley, Elizabeth, Aaron, Kevin, Annie, and Elyse. She will be especially missed by her special friend of over 40 years, Dorothy Brouse.

 

Private calling hours for family and close friends will be held Friday, Aug, 9 from, 7 to 9 p.m., at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel, 976 W. Waterloo Rd. Everyone please meet at church. Burial at Lakewood Cemetery.
