AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Joseph Clinton Way, age 44, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 5, 2008 at Sharon Baptist Church, 6262 Cobbham Rd., Appling, GA, 30802 with Reverend Andy Collins and Pastor Steve Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his parents; Bobby D. and Kittye D. Way of Appling, GA; two brothers, Robert D. Way of Atlanta, GA and Matthew B. Way and wife Robin of Warner Robbins, GA; his long term girlfriend, Marcie B. Springer and her two daughters, Madison and Macall Springer of North Augusta, SC; two nieces, Taylor and Cylie Way. A native of Augusta, GA, Mr. Way was the manager of Buck's Pizza. He was a member of True North Baptist Church. Joey was an avid golfer and loved watching college football. Active pallbearers will be Donny Way, Tommy Way, Ricky Peace, Henry Evans, Shawn Cook, Bo Wates, Mark McGee, Rod Greenway and Ralph Crain. John Mark McGee
Joey passed away 5 years ago. He was a great childhood friend. We practically grew up together. Played recreation sports together, junior high, and high school. His family was like my second family. Joey was full of life and he never met a stranger. You don't meet folks like Joey often. We stayed in contact over the years and Joey was always doing well. It was tough to lose a friend I had met at 9 years of age. Life is so fragile. I have passed on his love for life through my on two boys. Joey will always be in our hearts. Mark McGee
