Timothy Roy Swanson was born on May 4, 1961 in Crookston, MN the son of Roy G. and Deanna (Warner) Swanson. He was baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran Church in Warren, MN. Tim attended kindergarten in Angus, MN, elementary school in Warren, MN and graduated from Warren High School in 1979. He then attended Moorhead State University and graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.

After graduating from Moorhead State University, Tim started working at Marvin Windows in Warroad, MN. Tim has characterized his career at Marvin’s as that of “a temporary” due to the number of assignments and projects he has worked on. Tim said he has always been open to new work experiences and projects and has done well with them. His first day was a 10 hour day on the night shift in Jamb Extensions. He worked in Building 7. Every day during his lunch hour, Tim went for a walk through the plant. He later worked in Special Calcs for several years before becoming a floater in the Sales and Customer Service Departments. In 1996, he moved to Millwork Research and now was doing research for the Legal Department, primarily dealing with product liability issues. The summer of 2014 would have been Tim’s 30th year with the company.

On November 27, 1999 Tim was united in marriage to Lisa Newton at Zion Lutheran Church in Warroad, MN. They lived in Warroad until the fall of 2002 when they moved to Grygla, MN to be closer to family. Together, Tim & Lisa raised their son, Brady. Brady was a “Big Deal” to Tim. The family have enjoyed their years together.

Tim enjoyed family reunions, attending baseball games with friends, golfing with his buddies and teaching the game to Brady, being part of the Newton family get-togethers, and attending Brady’s sporting events.

Tim was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and had served on the church council; was very active with the Grygla Lions Club where he served as secretary, was currently the gaming manager, served as Zone #2 Chairman in the Lions District and chaired several Lions activities; and while living in Warroad was active with the Jaycees.

I will miss Tim "Swanny" Swanson a lot.  Always with a smile and fun to catch up with.  A lot of memories from Warren with Tim and time spent at his house and with his family.
