Joel E. Bauer, 59, of 9584 Clover Leaf Lane, Fishers, died at noon Oct. 17, 2001, in Gunderson Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, Wis.

He was born July 30, 1942, in Warsaw, to Doal B. and Margaret Karsten Bauer.

Joel was a truck driver for National Freight Lines, Columbus, Ohio, and a Warsaw High School graduate.  He was an Air Force and Army veteran serving in Vietnam, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 910, Lebanon.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret Karsten, Indianapolis; three sons, Matthew and Scott Bauer, both of Illinois, and Jacob Bauer, Michigan; two daughters, Sherry Bauer, Illinois, and Sara Bauer, Michigan; a sister, Myrna Carlin, Leesburg; and a brother, Rodney Bauer, Fishers.

Joel was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
