Judith (Judy) Melick (Schmidt)

From Judy's husband, Bob...

Hello to All of Judy's Friends and Family -

I am terribly sorry to share this devastating news with you - Judy passed away this Sunday morning, Feb. 17th.  After an absolutely wonderful, fun, exciting cruise with many port visits and shore excursions.  Judy suffered an unfortunate trip and fall the evening prior to disembarking.  She had pain, but was still in great spirits after seeing the ship's doctor.

Upon arriving home, she was uncomfortable, but was maintaining her regular medication schedule and wanted to sleep in the living room where she had more positions available.  It was some time between 4:30 and 6:00 this morning that I realized she had stopped breathing.

The Angels decided that Judy was needed in Heaven where she no longer has any pain or problems breathing.  Her body now allows her the freedom to do the "anything and everything" she has missed for all of these years.

The earth will be a lonely place without Judy here where she was happy and fulfilled, and where all of us could reach out to her because she was willing to share her wisdom and good horse sense to everyone who asked for help.  To those waiting on donor lists, she was a natural counselor and healer.

Judy and I agreed that whoever "went" first, will wait for the other on the Other Side of the Moon.  Until then, I'm sure going to miss her.  Jude was my everything - my purpose, my reason, my All.

I am grateful for the 42 years we shared together - with Judy renewing her "life warranty" on a regular basis and dodging bullets here and there.  She fulfilled every need a man could ever have.  I received more than I deserved or could expect to get from a wonderful, warm, loving Gift from God.

May I live up to her standards and expectations.....

My condolences to all of you as well - no doubt, you're hurting too.  My thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you - may we console each other in the Memory of Judy - my incredible, unbelievable, friend and wife.

God be with you.
