
Connie Lee VanCuren, age 77, formerly of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on June 1, 2020 in Ripley County, Missouri.
She was the daughter of John and Merna Sites VanCuren. Connie was a 1961 Warsaw High School graduate. From high school she graduated from beautician school, and later from barber school. For many years Connie owned and operated a barber shop in Keokuk, Iowa.
Connie had a variety of interests, especially history. She was a member of the Kosciusko County Historical Society, a member of DAR, she made Civil War clothing and participated in Civil War reenactments. She also made jewelry that she sold at craft shows. At one time, Connie owned a Corvette and competed at various drag strips in Indiana and Michigan.
She is survived by two nieces and a number of cousins, two of whom, Alan and Harry Gigous, live locally. For many years she was a companion of Jim Sarber of Claypool, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Saundra and Jim.
Graveside services were held at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw with interment in a family plot.
