SHARON (PIPPENGER) WHICKER

AUGUST 16, 1942 ~ JANUARY 18, 2018 (AGE 75)

 

   Sharon Elaine Whicker, age 75 and a longtime resident of Warsaw, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 just after 4 PM in her home.

   Sharon was born on August 16, 1942 in Wakarusa, Indiana. She was one of three children born of Arthur and Vera (Shelton) Pippenger.

   Sharon graduated from Warsaw High School with the class of 1960. On October 9, 1960, she was united in marriage to Charles “Joe” Whicker. Sharon and Joe, the love of her life, would share 57 years together prior to his passing on January 23, 2012.

   Sharon was a homemaker who enjoyed being a mom.  She enjoyed puzzles, reading, and crafts.  She loved IU and was “cut-throat” at any games, even beating out her grandchildren at games like Chutes and Ladders.  She also loved playing Euchre with her cousins.  For many years, Sharon and her husband vacationed in Michigan’s UP and traveled to California each Spring.  She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years.  She loved her roles as wife, mother and grandmother;  Life was all about family for Sharon.

   A list of Sharon’s closest family includes her two daughters: Amy (husband, Greg) Barry of Warsaw and Linda (fiance, Aaron Bice) Boeshart of Huntington Beach, CA; son, Joe (wife, Charlotte) Whicker of Elkhart; three grandchildren: Elly Boeshart of Huntington Beach, CA, Miranda (fiance, Shawn Bowen) Whicker of Munster and Erin Boeshart of Huntington Beach, CA and a brother, Jay (wife, Janice) Pippenger of Warsaw.

   Sharon was preceded in passing by her husband, Joe Whicker and sister, Janice Frederickson.

   Friends and family will gather to share memories on Thursday, January 25th from 10 AM to 12, Noon at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow, beginning at Noon in the Funeral Home with burial in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
