Frank Joseph Colea, 50, a retired major in the Prince George's County Fire Department who was commander of fire and rescue operations, the third-ranking post, died of cancer Nov. 18, 1994 at his home in Landover Hills.
Maj. Colea retired in 1992 after 27 years as a firefighter. He had been operations bureau commander since 1985.
Maj. Colea, who was born in Washington, graduated from Archbishop John Carroll High School and attended Prince George's Community College. After Army service, he worked briefly for the U.S. Postal Service and was a volunteer firefighter in Mount Rainier.
He had commanded stations in Riverdale, Seat Pleasant and Cottage City.
