Scott L. Hodson

On June 11, 2012, our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend Scott L. Hodson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. Scott was born on March 16, 1948 in Ogden, Utah to Layne and Ortel Hodson. He graduated from Bonneville High School where he enjoyed playing sports. Scott married Dianne Thornton on April 1, 1965. They had two children, Scott Shane Hodson and Cammie Layne Hodson. He later married Stephanie Anderson on September 8, 1984. Together they had one son, Tyson J. Hodson.

Scott loved the outdoors. He was happiest when he was hunting with his beloved dog, Sally, camping and traveling with Steph, fishing with his sons and drag racing with his brother-in-law Garth Widdison.

He was part owner of Hodson Auto, Inc., and during his later years Scott was a counselor at Alcohol Chemical Treatment Center (ACT) at Ogden Regional Medical Center.

Scott was very selfless, humble and loving when helping others. He served on the Board of Directors at Valley Camp in Eden, Utah and was involved in the recovery of those who were struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. He spent many hours with Steph volunteering at Valley Camp and ACT where he met many great friends including his best friend, Rial Storey. Scott had a great sense of humor and could make people laugh even in the most serious circumstances.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie; daughter, Cammie; sons, Scott S. Hodson and Tyson J. Hodson; grandsons, Drake Kent and C.J. Kent; great-granddaughter, ''Aubbie''; and sisters, Joan (Garth) Widdison, Wynn (Edd) Hurtado, and Margaret (Steve) Hales.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Rae Hodson, and his special companion, Sally Dog.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Valley Camp Building Fund at Valley Camp, P O Box 9584, Ogden, Utah 84409.
