Kerry Lindgren

Kerry Lindgren Son, Father, Grandfather and friend to all, passed away Friday morning at 10 a.m. in his home. He was 63 years old. Born in Ogden, Utah on September 10, 1948 to Carl Richard Lindgren and Iona Harper.

Kerry was a man from a rough past who somehow came out on top to become one of the most tender-hearted, loving and compassionate people many ever knew. He was raised with very little. Through his early teenage years, his dad picked him up the last day of school and he worked every day, painting from morning till night, and received $100 at the end of the summer. He used this to buy himself five pairs of pants and five shirts, which lasted him the entire school year. Kerry developed an exceptional work-ethic and often worked several jobs at a time to support his family. Additionally, he was an entrepreneur extraordinaire, most notable was his Utah franchise of National Property Inspections.

A man full of life at every turn, Kerry never let the burdens of the world break his spirit. He battled cancer and many other parodies toward the end of his life, yet he was always grateful for everyday he had. He was known for his over-the-top optimistic outlook on life. He saw everyday as a new opportunity to learn and serve others. His vocabulary was a plethora of positivity and he often uplifted others with his phrases of encouragement, "Never Give Up", "Attitude is everything", "If it is to be it is up to the Lord and me", "Only you can allow yourself to fail", "Commit to live your life so you never have to apologize to anyone", & "Every second we are breathing is a gift from our Lord." Kerry filled his life with service. Finding a family in need and buying Christmas for the children, serving food to the homeless, giving money to people in need, helping a gentleman in a wheelchair into his car were just a few of the common deeds he did without hesitating. Whatever he had he freely gave. He was a very sentimental and compassionate person. He would often be brought to tears when seeing others suffer.

Known by all as a skier, Kerry would spend much of his winters at Snowbasin. He''d take business phone calls on the chairlift and tell the caller he was in his office. Skiing powder runs would cause him to shout with excitement and those within a mile radius knew that it was Kerry. The outdoors was where he was in his element. He always viewed the beauty of the Earth as proof of God''s love for his children.

He had an endless list of passions; photography, woodwork, health and fitness and, at the top of the list, his family. Kerry was married to a caring and supportive wife, Katie. Among the memorable moments they had together were the evenings spent eating dinner outside and enjoying the beauty of Mountain Green that surrounded them. There was never an important event in his kids'' lives he wasn''t there for. He once went to Texas after being offered a job with great pay, his children came to visit and as they left he made the choice to come back home. His employer told him he''d be making a big mistake and would be missing a great opportunity; he stated "If I don''t have my kids in my life, I''ve missed the greatest opportunity life has to offer." He often said, "If I can''t help my family and be there for them, what am I?" He will be missed by the countless people that he reached out to and shared his endearing spirit. That love will forever be felt and we look forward to seeing him again.

Kerry is survived by his wife Kathryn Larson Lindgren, daughter Krisha Froerer & husband Anthony Froerer, daughter Whitney Pantone and husband Jake Pantone and son Kavin Lindgren and wife Alex Lindgren. He was also the grandfather to Sage, Rossi, Larsen, Jacob Moses and Olive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Mountain Green LDS Chapel, 4150 W. Old Highway Rd., Mountain Green, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
