Allen Pogue

Allen Pogue

Allen Woodrow Pogue, 70, our beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend left this mortal life on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Allen passed away peacefully at his son’s home in Kaysville, Utah surrounded by loving family. Allen was the second of two children, born to Woodrow and Nelda Pogue in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 14, 1948.  His cousin, Joan was raised with the family since Allen turned one year old. He graduated from Bonneville High School in Washington Terrace, Utah and attended college at both Weber State University and Utah State University. Allen served a two-year mission in Ireland for the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He married Margo Lynn Johnsen in the Ogden Temple on March 17, 1972. Allen was a faithful, lifelong member of his church and dedicated to helping others through volunteer work. He served as Boy Scout Master, ski patrolman for 25 years, and a youth leader. He had a successful career as a manufacturer sales rep in the bedding and furniture industry which spanned almost thirty years.  After raising his three sons in Blue Springs, Missouri he and Margo divorced, and he retired in Utah to lovingly care for his mother, Nelda Jones. Allen will be remembered for his easy-going personality and sense of humor that always seemed to brighten someone’s day or comfort those in pain.  He was an avid skier, loved the outdoors, and riding his motorcycle. He is survived by three children, Chad (Beth) Pogue of San Antonio, Texas; Brandon Pogue of Kaysville, Utah; and Benjamin (Melanie) Pogue of Kaysville, Utah. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two sisters, Kathy (Gary) Chugg and Joan (Bill) Conrad. The family extends special thanks to Comfort Worx Hospice for their loving and devoted care of Allen enabling him to comfortably and peacefully pass away at home.
