William Joseph Waters 1948 ~ 2007 "Faith and Courage" MIDVALE - Our loving friend, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle passed from this life to his eternal home to be with his daughter Anna, on Monday, March 5, 2007, under the watchful care of Vista Care. Bill passed away from complications of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Bill was born on April 24, 1948 in Brigham City, Utah to Joseph William Waters and Donna Mae Chlarson. He attended Bonneville High where he graduated in 1966, and from 1968-70 served a full-time mission in England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Four years later he earned his bachelor's degree in Business Management from Culver Stockton College in Canton Missouri. He served his country well for 20 years in the United States Air Force and later worked full time as a District Executive in the Boy Scouts of America for 13 years. Through his hard work, he touched countless lives. Bill had a thirst for life and knowledge, always reading a good book or helping someone in need. With a spiritual wisdom that went beyond his years, and an amazing ability to listen, he was able to help people in ways that no one else could. Faith and Courage was the foundation of his life, and his family is his legacy. On November 17, 1970, he was married and sealed to his eternal love Shirley Ann Lewis in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with three boys and two girls: Lesley Joseph (Charlene) Waters, David Brent, Michael Jay (Jasmine) Waters, Anna Cynthia (deceased), and Tyna Ruth (Ryan) Adams. Bill is the brother to eight sisters and one brother: Judy (Arlo) Martin, Linda (John) Potter, Rodger (Arlene) Waters, Ila (Lynn) Stephens, Debbie (Tim) Stanford, Cherie (James) Andrews, Naoma (Raymond) Potter, Trudy (Ron) Manning, Donna (Bob) Ward. He is also the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, Rylee Ann, Nixon Leigh, Cooper Joseph, Jalyn Jayne, Justin Jay, Anna Larisa, Jacob William, and Landry Jaxson. His Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 9th at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., in Ogden. Viewings will be at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. Interment will be at Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 East 2850 North in North Ogden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the MDA of Utah and Boy Scouts of America. A special thanks to Vista Care for all their support.
