Judy Leone Lythgoe was reunited with her parents, Earl and Lavell Lythgoe, on Tuesday, July 29th, 2014.
Judy was born May 16th, 1948 in Ogden, Utah. She was a lifelong resident of Washington Terrace and a graduate of Bonneville High School.
Judy worked for the U.S. Government for many years, first at the Internal Revenue Service and later at Hill Air Force Base. She retired with over 38 years of government service.
Judy was a loving daughter, niece, sister, aunt and friend. She had a kind, generous spirit and spent her life serving others.
Judy was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She cared for the missionaries for many years.
Judy was a devoted daughter and selflessly served as caretaker to her parents in their final years. Her nieces and nephews called her Aunt Judy, but she loved them as a mother and grandmother.
Judy is survived by her sister Georgia M. (Quinn) Willis, and four brothers, Larry E. (Joan) Lythgoe, Randy L. (Valerie) Lythgoe, Clare J. (Danielle) Lythgoe, Paul J. (Marjean) Lythgoe. She is also survived by two uncles, Gerald (Georgia) Mikesell, Scott (Denise) Mikesell, and two aunts, Peggy Grossnickle and Shauna Mikesell. Judy was preceded in death by her parents as well as her uncles, Darrell Mikesell, Wendell G. Mikesell, and John Grossnickle, and her aunt, Carlene (Otto) Doffee.
As a family and on behalf of our beloved Aunt Judy, we would like to thank all who have loved and cared for her. Thank you to the members of her ward for their support, and especially to her devoted home teachers. A special thank you to the dedicated nurses and physicians who held her hand and cared for her in her last hours.
Although we miss you dearly, we know you are happy with your parents in Heaven. You touched so many lives and we will all carry your sweet spirit with us. So instead of goodbye, we say God be with you until we meet again.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 5th at the Washington Terrace LDS Ward Chapel, 350 West 5100 South, Washington Terrace. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 4th at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
