On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, our incredibly loved Shannon Johnson Tyree DaSilva passed away at her home in Greenbelt, MD. Shannon was born January 29, 1948 in Coalville, Utah, the first of seven children and spent her early years in Morgan, Utah. She graduated from Bonneville High School and from Weber State University
with her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
In 1970, she married Roger Tyree and they later divorced. She moved from Utah to Twin Falls, ID. She lived
there many years and worked as an O.R. Nurse. She joined traveling nurses and had many opportunities to travel including trips to Ireland and Saudi Arabia and finally settled on the east coast. She made friends easily and enjoyed life.
The east coast is where she met the love of her life, Marlon R. DaSilva. They married and built a wonderful life together. She worked in the DC area at Howard Hospital, Georgetown Hospital and Washington Hospital Center. She made an impact where-ever she went and she will be greatly missed.
Daughter of Shirley G. Bush (Blackfoot, ID) and the late Earl R. Johnson; devoted wife of Marlon R. DaSilva, step-mother of Brianna Alvarez (Greenbelt, MD); sister of Robin (Michael) Weston, (Riverdale, UT), Michael Earl Johnson (Salmon, ID), David Austin (Viola) Johnson (Inkom, ID), Janine (Michael) Ford (Blackfoot, ID),
Amy (Karl) Scieneaux (Fort Worth, TX) and Melinda Bush (Blackfoot, ID) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; and one nephew, Troy Michael Weston.
A memorial service was held on December 11, 2015 at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Greenbelt, MD 20770. Another memorial service will be held when her ashes are returned to the Utah/Idaho area.
