February 19, 1948 — May 2, 2018

Vivan “Vi” Walter Graham

On May 2, 2018, Vi, our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend concluded his mortal journey and returned to his Heavenly Father. Vi had been dealing with complications caused by strokes and diabetes. He passed peacefully at Thatcher Brook Care Center in Clearfield.

Vi was born on February 19, 1948 to Marcell and Clarissa Lindsay Graham in Murray, UT.  Vi graduated from Bonneville High School as part of the class of 1966. He then served an LDS mission in the Germany South Mission. Vi later married his sweetheart, Patricia “Tish” Leatherwood, for all eternity in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. After his marriage he enlisted in the Air Force and served his country as a medic during the Vietnam War.

Service was truly a hallmark of Vi’s life. He graduated from Weber State University with his bachelor’s degree in Nursing and then worked caring for others in a career that spanned over 40 years. His compassionate personality and encouraging demeanor made him exceptional at nursing as well as a teacher and mentor in both his vocation and his many church callings.

Music was an integral part of his life and he learned early in his childhood to sing and play multiple instruments. He shared his talent freely with others, and encouraged his children to develop their musical abilities and an appreciation for the arts.

As a boy, Vi attended Disneyland on opening day which left an indelible impression and led to many family vacations to the Magic Kingdom. Road trips to southern California were an annual event. His children have treasured memories of trips to Disneyland and staying with kind family members in the Anaheim area.

Vi could often be found folding your laundry, mowing your lawn or doing other acts of kindness. He enjoyed spending time with his 10 grandchildren. If Vi was not finding a way to help and serve, he was in the kitchen cooking something delicious. Dinner at Vi and Tish’s house would always include something wonderful like barbeque meat balls or “naughty” brownies.

He is survived by his wife Patricia “Tish,” Clinton, son, Dane (Jodi) Graham, Syracuse, daughter, Tandra (Mason) Humpherys, Clinton, daughter, Adie (Brice) Mitchell, Teasdale, son, Brooke (Holly) Graham, Syracuse. Vi was preceded in death by his father, Marcell, mother, Clarissa, and his sister, Glenda.

You could often find him enjoying the peace and tranquility among the red ledges in Teasdale, UT where his final resting place will be.

There will be a celebration of his life on Friday, May 11th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clinton LDS Church, 1708 N. 800 N., Clinton, UT.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Clinton LDS Church, 1708 W. 800 N., Clinton, UT.  Friends may visit with family from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.

The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the staff at Thatcher Brook Rehabilitation and Care Center and Brighton Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion during Vi’s final days.

Services entrusted to Lindquist's Latyon Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
