Terrill “Terry” Stephens Jones, 73, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021.

He was born October 23, 1948 in Ogden, Utah, the second of six children of Douglas Reuben and Gene Stephens Jones.

He enjoyed scouting and became an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Bonneville High School Class of 1966.He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served shortly during the Vietnam War. He left the Navy Reserve due to an injury and went on to serve in various trades before beginning his career with the U.S. Post Office, first as a letter carrier and eventually retiring as a mechanic.

On November 10, 1967, Terry married Loretta May Taylor in South Ogden. They were later sealed in the Ogden Temple.

Terry served in many positions in the Washington Terrace 1st Ward, and he was a Washington Terrace Recreation Baseball coach for many years. He was also an assistant football coach.

He was a member of the Bonneville Rod & Custom Car Club, and was restoring a Ford Fairlane and a Mustang at the time of his passing.

Terry and Loretta made many friend and family in their last home in Riverdale, UT. They were able to help many people with their family history. They were able to also serve as the Stake Index Leaders and Terry truly loved being able to help others.

Terry is survived by his wife, Loretta, and six children, Karla (Clint) Kerns, Rick (Teri) Jones, Marty Jones (Bobbi Rose), Angela Bradley, Dustin (Season) Jones, Randy (Shelley) Jones, 28 grandchildren, over 20 great-grandchildren and many more to come. Terry is also survived by one brother, Mike (Roz) Jones, four sisters, Kathleen Plaisted, Karen (Thayne) Grossenbach, Tamera (Stephen) Taylor, and Glenna (Jim) Hard. He preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Gene Jones, brother-in-law, Rex Plaisted, Loretta’s parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Lakeview Ward, 4900 South 2000 West, Roy. A viewing will be held prior to the services 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. The family invites you to come visit and share a memory with them prior to the service.
