1948 –­ 2022

Maurene Jensen, 73, of Ogden, passed away on May 10, 2022, from pulmonary fibrosis. She was born August 28, 1948, in Ogden, Utah to Wallace L. and Maxine R. Jensen. She was the first of seven children, and survived by: Lynette Peterson (Larry), Jana Jacobsen (Brian), Lynn Jensen (Gail), Barbara Miller (David), Lori Butterfield (Scott) and Veloy Duke (Steve). She was also a beloved Aunt to 19 nieces and nephews.

Maurene graduated from Bonneville High School in 1966 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from BYU in Medical Technology. She worked in that field for several local hospitals during her career.

She loved to learn new things. Her passion was writing fantasy/science fiction and was a published author. Maurene enjoyed playing the piano for children in Primary and studying the gospel. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a mission to Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 19th at 11:00 am at Mt. Lewis 5th Ward, 1150 N. Monroe Blvd, Ogden. There will be a viewing on the same day from 10 am -­ 10:45 am at the church. Interment to follow at Ogden City Cemetery.
