
Debra Ann “Debbie” Welsh, 56, of Waterloo, Iowa, passed away after a long battle with cancer, on Monday, April 30, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. She was born on November 14, 1961, in Waterloo, the daughter of Daniel and Lucille (Landsteiner) Welsh. Debbie was raised in Waterloo and graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1980. She served honorably in the United States Army. Debbie worked at the Lowell Elementary School in Waterloo as a secretary. She enjoyed fishing and was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Debbie also liked watching hockey. She moved to Strawberry Point during the past several weeks to be closer to her daughter, Nicole. Survivors include her parents, Daniel and Lucille Welsh of Waterloo; her daughter, Nicole Welsh, and her fiancé, Chris Stover, of Strawberry Point; five grandchildren, Alex Harmon, Emi Harmon, Jaelynn Stover, Kyden Stover, and Rorric Stover; and her two siblings, Nancy (Ipo) Kaaihue of Waterloo and Tim (Julie) Welsh of Bettendorf.
