VANDE VAARST
Lauren P. (née Berger), age 56, of Wayne, died Wednesday. December 23, 2015 in her hometown from complications of pancreatic cancer.  Lauren was born to Ronald and Harriet Berger on December 25, 1958 in New York City. She spent most of her childhood in North Jersey, where she married her beloved husband Guy on October 5, 1985. Lauren had a passion for local government, and in 2010 she began her term as clerk for the City of Englewood. There she earned a reputation for strong leadership, hard work and a compassionate attitude. Earlier this week, the Englewood City Council voted unanimously to rename the office in her honor.
She is survived by her large and grateful family, including her husband and their children, Maxine and Eric, her mother, sisters Shari and Tracey and cat Annabelle. We are all better for having been in her life, and we will keep her spirit close as we live to honor her memory.
