YES! 2) Would you like to go dutch to a place that would potentially take reservations for a large group or would you rather have a place rented out for our reunion? RENTED OUT. 3) If you would like to have a place rented out...would you like to pay to have the bar available and would you like to have music (live band or DJ)? Doesn't matter about a bar for me...my husband would probably drink though...and would love to have band and/or DJ.
I would be willing to help in any way as well. When you think about your 10 year reunion what comes to mind is a formal gathering. Ashley mentioned the 3rd generation barn loft...which is where I got married in 2009. It's a great little setting. The owners are nice and reasonable with their prices...however, they do have some rules and regulations which they will explain (i.e., no open flames in the barn). Not to mention there is ample parking. We had BBQ for our reception, my mom found a couple who did it for us...she said that she believed it was $12/person and it was buffet style...and everything (that I was able to eat in all the excitement of the wedding) was great! I can get their information if that is an option. We also used a local woman for our wedding cake...which I still have people commenting about...if we just wanted to do a cake for a dessert. We had enough room for a wedding, reception, buffet style food line, a huge wedding cake, band (Sonoma Road), and dancing. Ashley and I were talking and I think that you won't get an accurate head count just by posting on here. As Ashley mentioned, many people haven't updated their profiles, which leads us to believe that many people may not know about this website...unless they have a facebook...and some people choose not to have one. So, in all fairness, invitations should be sent to homes to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to be involved. I am going to try to attach some photos of the barn from our wedding...

RE: 10 Year Class Reunion - 2011 Posted Sunday, June 19, 2011 09:20 AM We are looking at the Gateway Club...this location seems to be the most reasonable with all the amenities everyone is looking for. They are willing to work with us not having a deposit, etc. It is also local so it would work better for those who would be attending the tentative late night get together. We will have to select another date for the reunion...a lot of places didn't have October 1st available (including the Gateway Club). What does everyone think of September 24? This is the weekend of Pisgah's reunion but maybe that wouldn't create a conflict with too many people...? If we can decide on a new date then I'll have Kaleb book this location next week, and I'll begin trying to get help from those of you kind enough to offer to settle out the rest of the details. Sound good? |

To answer the questions, I would like to have something formal in a rented out location. It would be great to have a bar, but from being a bystander in the planning of Pisgah's reunion, I have learned that an open bar can be quite expensive. They opted for a cash bar, which might be a better option (their tickets will prob. be between $50-$60 per person, which is mostly due to the venue...an open bar would've made a drastic difference in price). Also, I think it would be great to have a band or DJ. I think if people want to dance, a DJ might be the better option. I've never been to the Gateway Club, but think it's a good option, especially since they're flexible with the planning. |

What matters is seeing everyone after a REALLY long time. (~1/3 of our lives to date have passed since we were in high school!) Reading above, it seems like a fixed date really hasn't been set. Is this right? I'm a bit worried that the conversation may have went back to FB, which I don't want to have an account on there. (Yes, much has changed, but some things are still the same. ;) ) Hoping everyone is doing well, James |

The last update was that changes were coming & to check back by the end of the week...but that was like 2 weeks ago. I'll let you know if something is posted on facebook and not here :). |
