Don was such a great athlete and a fine person. It is hard to see so many good names on the list of those no longer with us. However, their lives touched ours, so the memories live on, thank goodness.
I played basketball and baseball with Don. He also was a running back on the football team. Don was without doubt the best male athlete in the class of '62. He played much bigger than his 5'10" frame. I remember running into Don at a filling station on Manchester a few years after graduation. We were comparing cars. As I recall, he was driving an impressive yellow Camaro.
I don't remember specifically when he died, but I remember thinking to myself how sad it was that he left this world at such a young age.
