Charles (Chuck/Charley/Charlie) was born in St. Louis and grew up in Webster Groves, attended Webster Groves High School, then graduated from Drury College in Springfield, MO. He loved being a part of the Sea Scouts, with their ship Sea Lion, and contributing to the Webster High Echo newspaper as their photographer.

He loved photography, had an in-home darkroom, and taught his daughter how to develop film.

In his professional life he wore many hats throughout the years: owner of Charlie’s Diner, Studio Photography, Reporter for the Associated Press, News Anchor, Radio Station Reporter, Marketing Department at the St. Louis Police Department, Member of the Ad Club of St. Louis, Convention Planner, Publisher, as well as a few other trades. He loved the news reporting the most and was well known for his “radio and news” voice.

Retired now for many years, he led a simple life with his wife and their cats, who he loved deeply.
