Joseph (Chip) Jones

Jim was one of my best friends during Middle and High School.   He loved hard work and building things.  He cut grass and raked leaves for income and had quite a business at that young age.  My parents moved our home when WHY 44 came through and gradually did major upgrading/rehab/additions.  My dad would let us work on the house each weekend.  We would spend most of the weekend learning and doing major construction.  Jim and I did yard jobs together, and at one point worked together in my dad’s stone business.   Jim and I had many overnights and did some father-son canoeing trips.  At one point I was able to stay with Jim and his family for a few weeks one summer when our house was moved.  That was one of the most special times in my life.  His family was so nice and seemed like my extended family.  One of our favorite things to do was to ride bikes and watch HWY 44 being built.   Jim was a good friend.
