Junior was such a character. He had such a very giving heart. We were still in high school, and my mom and I were on our way home from the mall, going through Kimball in the big curve, when the truck in front of us hit this large duck. Possibly a goose. He kept going but of course, I stopped. I was hysterical; crying and trying to help this duckgoose. A vehicle pulled up behind me and a fella got out and ran over. Lisa, stop. I will help you. Stop! He ran to his car and brought back a blanket. He wrapped the dying duck and placed it in his car. He said to me, and I will never forget his words, "I will take care of this for you. I promise. I won't let it suffer any more". Because he was upset too, his stuttering was worse than normal. The next day at school he found me, and told me it died just moments after we left. Whether it died, or he put it out of his misery, I will never know and it really doesn't matter. He took care of it for me, just like he said he would. He was so sweet. Like William, our loss, Heaven's gain. Until we meet again.......
I have to agree with Lisa that Junior was truly a character. We would walk to work together after school -he was always so much fun to be around. It was so difficult to see him at his wake. He will always be remembered.
Edward (I always called him Edward, not Junior) is another friend I think of often. He was such a sweet person. I remember him sending me flowers one Valentines Day, and I was lucky enough to have him as my escort for homecoming when I was representing the FBLA club. He will always be missed, but never forgotten.
