Dan Martelle Scholarship
The WHS Class of 1975 fondly remembers Dan Martelle, and all of our classmates who have passed before us. Throughout our high school years, Dan is remembered as someone who was unconditionally available to help ANYONE at ANYTIME, hence, his title on our Senior Class Poll as “CLASS HERO”. As Dan and his bride and our classmate, Karen Curtis Martelle, made Wellsville their home, any resident would agree with our synopsis of Dan’s generosity.
Dan and Karen were blessed with a grandson with Autism and Dan then devoted and centered his energy into supporting students with special needs. On the 50th Anniversary of our high school graduation, this scholarship, in Dan’s honor, will support a WHS graduating senior(s) who is pursuing a degree as a Special Education Teacher, in their quest to positively make a difference in the lives of students with special needs.
Many thanks to all of the classmates who donated to the Dan Martelle Scholarship Fund. The results of your generosity:
