Steve was a good friend. In junior high, to make some cash, Steve and I talked our parents into letting us " flock " christmas trees in my parents basement. We used a stream of glue and a old tank style vacuum cleaner. That was 1958 ! Maybe the vacuum cleaner wasn't that old ! We got our dads to deliver the trees - we kept the $$$. I also remember Steve and I watching baseball games televised from Cuba, Yes, it was pre- Castro!
FROMM, Steven Howard Age 63 of Nashville. October 25, 1945 - February 5, 2009. Steve was born and reared in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated with honors from Layton School of Art in Milwaukee. Although he was a gifted artist, his first love was music. This love brought him to Nashville in 1971 with the dream of forging a career in the music industry. In his early years he jammed with the likes of Townes Van Zant, Guy Clark and Chris Kristofferson. His song "Jesus You're So Wonderful" became a hit when recorded by the group Andrus Blackwood & Co. He wrote and recorded many songs and sang with the Bobby Jones Group. In his later years, he turned once again to his art, executed with great skill and laden with symbolism. He was an avid runner and doted on his birds, Silly Boy and Silly Girl. He leaves behind his mother, Mary Fromm; his son, Lucius-Romeo Fromm; his best friend, Vickie Fromm; friends and extended family. Steve was a gentle man who loved Jesus, in whose arms he now rests. A memorial service for Steve will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Bellevue Grace Assembly of God Church, 7301 Hwy. 70 S., Nashville, TN 37221.
