Donna & I were friends long before we got to high school. We spent summers playing baseball & volleyball, at Woodow Wilson playground in the days when they had summer activity programs . We also took part in the talant night show at the end of summer ever though we had no talant. WE would lipsing to records. Donna, Helen Gronowski & I hung around every summer. We all sneak into the fair one year with help from farm kids. Donna & I would take the bus to Greenfield park to go swimming on hot days.We played pool at Helen's house & listen to top hits on her 45 record player. In past few years I would see Donna grocery shopping. But I haden't see her for a few years. Her sisters said her son took good care of her and she was strong until the end. God Bless her, she is now at peace & out of pain.
Donna was a great gal, beautiful personality Remember meeting her at the pool in the summers. One of the memories for me was when I was driving down Greenfield Ave and stopped to say hi. Don't remember who I was with or who she was with, but we went to Dutch Girl's where Mary Garbe was working, got a bucket of chicken, etc and went to McCarty Park, I think, to eat.
