Paul M. Pelnar

I went to UWM after high school. I became a secondary Social Studies teacher. In fact, I did my student teaching at Central under Mr. Hibler and Mr. Stech. That was interesting--former teachers now as colleagues. Teaching seniors in PAD class was weird, too. I was 20 and many of my students were 18! I served as a teacher and coach at Wisconsin Hills Jr. High in Brookfield for 10 years and then moved around the district, teaching at both Brookfield Central and East. I decided to go into administration and got my first taste in that Elmbrook District, serving as an Assistant Principal at Burleigh MS, Central, and then East. After a few years of that, I was chosen as Principal of Fort Atkinson HS. After seving in that capacity for about ten years, I moved to the Principalship of an elementary school, also in Fort Atkinson. Upon retirement, I worked part-time for about seven years as a supervisor of student teachers, interns, and field study students through UW-Whitewater. My favorite leisure activities include playing pickleball and spending time at our house in Arizona. Our older son has three children--one boy and two girls. They're great.
