Ralph Borzello (Guidance) VIEW PROFILE

Ralph passed on January 31, 2010. The following appeared in the Febuary 4, 2010 edition of Newsday.

Born in Brooklyn, New York Ralph Borzello earned his Bachelor’s degree from St John’s University, a Masters degree at CW Post and a Ed.D. from LaSalle University. Ralph’s career in education spanned five decades and several school districts. He served as an English Teacher, Guidance Counselor and Football Coach at St John the Baptist in West Islip. He later became a Guidance Counselor and subsequently the District Coordinator of Guidance for the Central Islip School District. While at Central Islip, Ralph also served as president of the Coordinators Association, beginning a long and fruitful relationship with the Council of Administrators and Supervisors.
As executive vice president of the Council of Administrators and Supervisors, Ralph worked diligently with educational leaders to improve education on Long Island. In his retirement he continued his dedication to the profession serving as a consultant to numerous Long Island school districts and mentor to new administrators, and guidance couselors.

More than just an educator, Ralph was both an avid traveler and an enthusiastic sports fan. A lifelong Brooklyn Dodgers fan, he volunteered as a coach and later as President of Sayville Little League, turning his passion for baseball into a vehicle for many Long Island boys and girls to explore baseball. He also served as an Administrator for Little League District 35.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife Kathleen, his children; Jeannine Borzello-Brown, Matthew, Jeffrey, and Marielle , son-in-law Joseph Brown and his grandson Julian.
