Tyler here, to tell you that Leslie had a good life. She really lived. She loved her work. She loved her friends. She loved her lifestyle. She loved her house. She loved her husband. She looked for the good in everything, and in everyone. Even before her cancer diagnosis I would describe her as the purest soul I ever knew. She was a super wonderful funny sweet beautiful person.

After her cancer diagnosis, she didn’t go into “battle mode”….there was no war going on. She did her best to remain healthy, and at peace, and to just keep on living and enjoying her life. She didn’t ask “why me?” nor she did she feel sorry for herself. She had an insanely beautiful light that glowed from within her—if you knew Leslie well, you know what I’m talking about—and that light never dimmed. She had a huge capacity for love and had the amazing effect of growing the love inside of everyone she interacted with. I took her to several of her medical appointments, and as I wheeled her into each office, everyone would come running over with big smiles and gush all over her. All the doctors and nurses and hospital staff loved her and treated her with exceptional kindness, making her tests and treatments almost pleasant, almost fun. A huge number of people—and really wonderful people—rallied and provided support for her and her husband, helping them keep the house and yard up, and cooking meals. She was very very (yes, that’s “double very”) well cared for.

She made the decision when to let go, got to say her goodbyes, and then passed in the comfort of her home with her husband Todd and best friend Etta. Knowing that things were.…as beautiful as they could be.…considering…it still doesn’t stop the “missing her” part. But I like to think about her, and remember her beauty, her sweetness, and her sense of humor. She was one of my blessings. I loved her crazy amounts, and always will.

Such a beautiful tribute, Tyler.  I know Leslie is smiling up in Heaven!  I wish I had been closer friends with her when we were in high school, but I'm so grateful I got to know her and Todd in later years.  She was always so upbeat and positive.  And you were absolutely right in mentioning her "glow"...she truly radiated.

This world was a better place for having her in it, even for such a short time.  She is missed...
