Our dear Barb passed away this fall after a long and valiant battle with cancer.  She never lost her determination and sense of humour, or love for her family and friends.  Barb was always positive, and loved to be included in whatever everyone was doing, often adding to the occasion with her delicious cooking.  Barb leaves three gorgeous daughters and seven little blonde grand kids, who all looka bit like her!  Barb is sadly missed, especially by Scriv, Wendy, Debbie, and Val

BARBARA WALLACE - Obituary

"Barbara Lee Wallace September 26, 1948 - October 10, 2015 Barb died peacefully at home in North Vancouver after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Family was the most important thing in Barb's life. Her three daughters, Sara Van Mulligen (Jeff and son Caleb); Jody Phillips (Jeremy and children Ruby, Sonja and Malcolm); and Erin Lyne (Matt and children Abigail, Nora and Mabel) will forever carry Barb's love and memory. Barb is survived by her mother Elaine, sisters Diane (Phillip) and Sandra (Cliff), brother Brent (Locinne) and many loving nieces and nephews. Barb was predeceased by her father William Duncan Wallace and ex-husband Brent Frederick Mitchell. Barb cherished travelling and social times spent with her close friends. A true foodie, Barb was also passionate about music, paddling and walking. Guided by the values of honesty, integrity and compassion, Barb walked gently in the world. She was generous, cheerful, and loving to all who knew her. May she rest in peace forever.  A celebration of Barb's life will be held at 10 am on Sunday, October 18th at the Gordon Smith Gallery, North Vancouver.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the charity of your choice in Barb's memory. I have so many memories of Barb, Scriv and I hanging out in the neighbourhood. Climbing the "25th Street hill" to Barb or Scriv's house was a killer! We watching "The Mousketeers" after school. We each had our own Mousketeer name and we had the outifts. We knew all the songs and practiced the dances diligently! We bugged the boys ( like Paul Robson) at the paper shack where the newspapers were dropped off and sorted before being delivered. We would go down the hill to Val's house where there was usually a play or puppet show in the planning stage. In the summer, we hung out and swam at the beach at Dundarave. We went to camp together on Gambier Island-I think it was Camp Artaban.  In later years we attended CGIT at the United Church where Barb.s mom was a leader.  It is amazing the memories that flood back as I sit thinking about Barb and our neighbourhood. I am so sorry to not have known about Barb's celebration of life!
