This is from Brian Atkins, classmate of ours:
Chris died in 1987 as a result of a drunk driver that hit him on his way home from his job at Little Caesar’s. He was riding his Ninja motorcycle down Brookhurst Street when an illegal person ran a red light, hit him and sent him flying about 80 feet. He actually lasted a few nights but suffered severe damage and died. I attended his funeral. He was a great friend. We had some times. He is buried at the cemetery off of Beach and Bolsa. Rest in Peace brotha.

Nice job Chris.Matthew Utu
Chris was the man who can pull off wearing cowboy boots in elementary school...for the whole school year. I think he never wore a pair shoes unless they were Vans slip-on. Chris Gruber and Sam Willmore...will never forget those days!Jason Stamberger
Thanks for the memories of Chris. He was one of my best friends from 2nd grade until i left Allen. He and his older brothers taught me shit that no 3rd grader should have known. Chris was a class act. I remember in Mrs. Fuller's 3rd grade class we were allowed to bring in records to play and someone brought in the Saturday Night Fever LP and Gruber brought in the first Van Halen, so we had to vote. Not sure which one won, but for posterity's sake I'm gonna say I voted for the Halen. We all knew that Chris was way fucking cooler than we were. He is missed.Jason Stamberger
