WESTVILLE — Gregory Dale Hardesty, 37, of Westville, died at 1:49 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at his residence.
A celebration of his life will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at Pape Memorial Home and Cremation Gardens, 10 E. Williams St., with Father John Paninski officiating. A family gathering and visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Pape’s. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, 2580 Federal Drive-Suite 403, Decatur, IL 62526.
Greg was born Oct. 17, 1970, to Robert Eugene and Pamela Kay Van Vickle Hardesty. He attended Westville Grade School and High School, was a member of the wrestling team and attended the state conference before graduating in 1988. Greg worked as an engineer for CSX Railroad, and enjoyed working on cars, listening to music, fishing and camping.
Greg married Elsie Marie Parezo on June 6, 1992, in Danville; she survives. Also surviving are: his parents; four sons, Joshua Dale Hardesty, Zachary Tyler Spencer, Chad Alan Hardesty and Robert Roland Hardesty; a brother, Perry Wayne Hardesty; his maternal grandfather, Roland Jerome Van Vickle (Margaret); three nieces, Meghan, Penelope and Hannah Hardesty and one nephew, Collin Hardesty. Greg was preceded by his paternal grandparents: Robert and Margaret Nipper Hardesty, and his maternal grandmother: Kathleen Anderson Warner.
