Melinda was a wonderful person with a lot of passion. She moved toArizona to be closer to her grandmother. Melinda has one sone who is currently serving in the United States Marine Corp, stationed at inSan Diego, CA. Melinda was a grandmother.

Melinda and I were in homeroom together. I remember how she really transformed to be the best mom she could as soon as she found out she was going to be a mom!We kept in contact for a couple of years when I went off to college. She wrote me about the struggles she had in facing all of life's biggest challenges - parenting, becoming a wife, learning to live with others, moving away from family and friends, etc - all at once. I had tried to encourage her of how difficult each of these transitions is on its own. I know she always derived great joy from her son.
I had heard at the reunion that she was now a grandmother too. And I am shocked to learn that she has died at such a young age (as is true for any of our classmates).
