John C. Gihring, 61, of Great Falls, an Army verteran, died of natual causes Wednesday, September, 2008 at his home.  John was born March 11, l947, in Whitefish, the son of Inez and Oscar Gihring.  He moved to Great Falls in l959, graduating from Great Falls High School.  After serving in the Army he obtained his degree in sociology at the College of Great Falls and began his career with the State of Montana (law enforcement/parole officer).  John was an avid golfer, devoted to the family pets and  treasured his times with lifelong friends.  He is survived by Teddie Bray, his sister, of Spokane.
