LAKE DELTON - David Millard, age 51, of rural Lake Delton, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at his residence surrounded by his family, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
David was born May 5, 1953, in Fort Atkinson, the son of Chester and Harriet (Kienbaum) Millard. He graduated from Whitewater High School.
For many years he worked for United Parcel Service and this is where he made some of his best friends. Dave enjoyed nature; four-wheeling; the Corvette Club and he achieved a black belt in shaolin kempo karate. For Dave, family and friends were the most important part of his life and he especially cherished his children.
David is survived by his wife; a son; a daughter; his mother, Harriet Millard of Whitewater; brother; sister; parents-in-law; brother-in-law; sister-in-law; nephews; nieces; many aunts, uncles, relatives, and his loyal canine companion, Taylor. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Millard.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the PICHA FUNERAL HOME in Lake Delton, with Father Felix Oehrlein celebrating. The traditional services will be followed by cremation. Visitation will be held at the PICHA FUNERAL HOME on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
