Janice was a writer and poet, a fabulously witty intellect, and the most wonderful friend. She had attended Whittier College briefly and then moved to Santa Cruz where she lived for a number of years with a companion. When they split up she moved in with me for a year to help me with my new born son. Then she met and fell in love with a cartoonist who worked for Hanna Barbara. For years she worked with him comming up with cartoon ideas for HB and others. She worked on Animaniacs and was the inspiration for the complete physical redo of Bozo the Clown from pounchy to physically fit. She was intensely funny and her work as an inspiration for her companion suited her intellectually. They ultimately broke up and she returned to Whittier when her health began to fail and became a recluse until she passed.

Jan was a free spirit with a brilliant mind. She battled many demons throughout her life, but she never forgot those who loved her. Her soul is ever present in our hearts.
