Anita Brown was born on March 19, 1953 to Mr. and Mrs. Joe B. Brown of Wichita Falls. Her engagement to Mr. Wannie H. Stephens, born November 24, 1946 in Prestonburg, Kentucky, was announced in the September 13, 1970 edition of the Wichita Falls Times. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Stevens.
Their wedding took place at Faith Baptist Church on Saturday, June 12, 1971. It was noted in the article that the groom was a former Marine who served four years in the Corps. Also mentioned was that Cynthia Ogle was Maid of Honor at the ceremony.
