Did not know him  real well, but  he always seemed to be smiling and friends with everyone.

Sorry he left so soon.

God bless his family.

Smitty, you would have loved your service today.  It was a celebration of your life, and all your friends were there laughing and enjoying great memories of you.

Smitty was truly a good and old friend to me. I knew nearly as many generations of his family as I knew of my own and I have enjoyed them all. Smitty always made me happy even near the end he was in good humor. I hope he gained at least half as much from including me as a friend as I gained from counting him among mine. As gentle as I make him sound, I don't think The Supreme Court could have won an argument with Smitty.

Smitty was one of the few life long friends of mine that can truly be called a friend.  We first met in kindergarten @ Our Lady Queen of Peace.  Joey Abosey was in that class, too!  He went on to attend another elementary school.  Our paths crossed again while attending the same summer camp in Oklahoma .  We took drivers Ed together the summer before our freshman year of high school.  What a blast that was.  There never was a full moment around Spook, a nick name his elder siblings gave him on account he was born on Halloween! Ha!  We continued to keep in touch and get together several times each year though we lived 500 miles apart. Smitty went out of his way to help in any way he could.  He was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back.  He was a kind, honest and very humerous.  He was a good person.  I miss the out of the blue phone calls we would place to each other.  There ws something mystic about it.  Rest in Peace good friend, I truly miss you.  David
