Great friend. Amazing athelete. He was on the track team and he coached and got me to enjoy playing soccer. Got to know his extended family living in WF. They were Greek and his parents spoke very little English. Loved going to their house and watching old slides from Greece. Remember going to a sports banquet with our parents and watching Paul translate for our folks. I believe he was attending UT when he and several of his family were involved in a boating accident. I continue to enjoy learning about different cultures and ethnic groups to this day, but it's funny how I must have enjoyed that even back in high school.
Larry, so appreciated your post. I remember Paul as a quiet, gentle, very bright person. He shared that his name originally had been Pavlos Kristoferus - or Christoficus. Wish I had taken notes. How brave to navigate a city like WF being a first generation immigrant from a country few in that environ had ever visited. I have very fond memories of our conversations.
