Prentice was born May 22, 1953 and died March 30, 2009 from bone cancer.  Survivors include her husgand Eddie Holmes, children Amy, Elizabeth, Callie, Stoney and several grandchildren.  She lived in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Prentice & I became the best of friends when we meet in Choir Class at Reagan Jr. High at the tender age of 13. We both could'nt wait for our high school days to begin. How fast they speed by. She dearly loved to sing & I did too. So we began singing as a group. We always had the best of times just being friends, sharing in happiness & in our sorrows. Prentice was a Christian, a true blue bff. She was so kind & fun to be with. We remained the best of buds up to the day of her passing on March 30, 2009 at St. Francis Hospitall in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I was with her and held her hand in the end singing for her as the tears flowed down my cheeks. She passed from her earthly home to her Heavenly home & is now singing with all the angels on High for our Christ. I will forever miss Prentice & she will never ever be forgotten, nor all the good times that we shared as best friends. This is not goodbye my dear old friend but I will one day see you again on the far banks of Jordan waiting in the sand.
