Robert died in June of 1974. If I remember correctly, his birth and death dates were June 26th and June 9th.
One time while walking down the steps leaving school (Ben Franklin Elementary) in third grade, Robert took his books and lowered them down to tap the top of my head. It was a joke. It didn't hurt. But my mother saw it from the car, and she was very concerned. (smile)
Anyway, I knew Robert all the way into college at the University of Texas. We used to play at each other's houses when we were kids.
Robert was a fun guy. I appreciate him very much to this day. He gave a lot of himself to others, and I am proud to have called him my friend.
